Hi folks,
I currently have a 540MB HD on a 486 w/ 8MB RAM. The 540MB is divided
in between a 200MB DOS partition and a 340MB Linux partition (right after the
DOS partition). My DOS partition has run out of space. Now I am planning to
buy a 850MB or 1GB HD.
So basically I am looking for info/tips on:
1. How can I get to increase my DOS partition size to be the entire 540MB of
my original disk without losing any data or DOS config/setup?
2. How can I transfer my existing Linux partition(s) safely (w/o losing any
data or config) to the new HD?
I have heard of a utilitiy called "fips" which is supposed to allow
one to alter partition tables under DOS without losing any data. Does any one
have any experience with it--good or bad? And does any one know where I can
get it?
Any info/help will be appreciated.
