Those old memory-extender boards are SLOW memory. You can do much better
on the net buying used memory by mail...

I bought some a few months ago, just browsing
misc.forsale.computers.memory, I found a dealer who sold me 4MBx9 SIMMS
for $100 each and even bought back my 1MBx9 SIMMS for $25 each. My
motherboard will take mixed memory, so this was a net cost of $300 to
upgrade from 8 to 20 MB... not a bad deal at all. (If you can't take
mixed memory, it would have been a net cost of $200 to go from 8 to 16) It
took maybe a week of keeping up with the group to do this. My prices are
about three months old, though. You probably can't get $25/MB for your
1MB SIMMs now, but you probably don't have to pay $25/MB for the 4MB SIMMs
either.

Just my $0.02, hope it helps.
