I am almost embarrassed to post this, but I had a bad experience at the Air and Space Museum Friday evening, and I would like to complain. Can anyone tell me to whom I should send my letter for it to do the most good? This has been my first and only complaint in decades of Smithsonian attendence, particularly the Air and Space, especially considering the number of people they get daily. This is why I want to write, because I feel that someone simply goofed, and I have the feeling from all my positive experiences that someone really cares over there. Feel free to flame me for attacking such an institution, or to tell me that I'm a naive, idealistic fool, but a name and address of someone would be great. I'll also be glad to report what happens. Cheinan Marks Wondering what he's doing in DC.

I don't think it's a bad idea to bring a problem to their attention as long as it is legit, phrased properly, and given as constructive criticism (not out and out harrassment). I feel that the people at the Smithsonian are generally helpful and would appreciate notification of a problem. However, I am sorry I cannot give you any more of an address than you might find in the phone book or by calling. You could try the administrative offices and see if they have someone who deals with this sort of thing. Please follow-up with what you find out. While I have never had a serious problem of my own, it would be helpful to know where (or to whom) to go in the event I should need to. Mary Brick e-mail: m15841@mitre.org

I'll see what I can glean from him when I call this weekend. Oh for the days of watching the IMAX films from the projector room... Playing in the museum before it opened on a Saturday morning... Your own personal parking space in the garage... :) > >Feel free to flame me for attacking such an institution, or to tell me that I'm >a naive, idealistic fool, but a name and address of someone would be great. >I'll also be glad to report what happens. > Well the only way they're going to improve is if they know what they're doing wrong...

Letting kids run around a building filled with nuclear missles, rockets, turboprops and other inherently dangerous things seems like child abuse. :-) What I want to know is if you also got to play around in the Air and Space annex where they have the really _big_ planes? >Mary Brick >e-mail: m15841@mitre.org
