And in most states, the magic words "I want a lawyer" end the ad-hoc
interrogation IMMEDIATELY.  A cop that ignores those words and continues to
ask questions is risking loss of badge and a forcible change of address to
somewhere run by Federal Prison Industries.

In theory, anyway.  It can also result in a plunger handle getting shoved up
your ass...
