Aeh, da News grundsaetzlich bidirektional laufen, muss UUCP-Support wohl oder
uebel auch das Empfangen, d.h. "rnews", bedeuten.

[ Nein, ich habe jetzt keine Lust, den Kram zu uebersetzen. *

To me, there are a few advantages to inn even if you're running a UUCP site,
which is what I am doing at smurf.sub.org.
The biggest is that posting an article is synchronous. This means that when
inews exits without an error message, you can be sure that the server has
received the article, written it to disk, and there is a record in the
history database.

This works even when, at the same time, one or two incoming uucp connections
are spewing rnews jobs at innd. If your uuxqt can run multiple jobs at the
same time, innd can receive them concurrently.

The INN batcher isn't too bad either. ;-)

The INN expire lets you select whether to expire based on the date the
article was received or the date it was posted.

On the down side, the inn daemon needs somewhat more memory than C News.
(How much more is hard to say, as it depends on too many factors.)
This may or may not mean that you need a memory upgrade.

They are mutually exclusive.
