Right first off apologies for the crosspost but this is getting
desperate.  Quake 2 won't work and I am starting to get the shakes.  I
have recently had the win32/cih virus and after a really bad time
trying to get rid of it I have finally succeeded.  But now Quake 2
wont run at all.  It starts, gives me a grey screen and then hangs the
puter solid event old faithful ctrl+alt+del won't work I have to
physically turn it off and on again.  I have re-installed windows
(though over the top of the old one) and I have re-installed Q2
Uninstalling then reinstalling into the old directories I have also
tried uninstalling and re-installing into new directories and its the
same story.  I have checked the registry but at the end of the day I
have no idea what should be there.  I can think of nothing else I have
done to upset the f"�$�$ thin.  Everything else is running.  It is an
original version and the patch is from the extremities disk.
I will put tech info in this post as it may help. But I have had no
problems in the past and by the way a full reformat reinstall is not
an option at the present time due to lack of backups and the amount of
info on the pc. (I may have to wait to get a new HD if this is the
only option but then whos to say this won't reoccur when I replace the
files.

I have an amdk62 333
matrox mystique g200
64 meg pc100 ram
3,2 gig western digital hard drive
40 speed cd rom (new today)
creative pci128 soundcard
phonicpro modem internal
realtek 10/100 ethernet card (not currently plugged in to anything)
and thats it really

Please if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated If you don't
