I notice you have a Matrox card...

Personal experience, when I first got a Voodoo card I had a Matrox as
well and the Voodoo would not work properly as you describe. After weeks
of messing about it turned out that the Matrox was assigning itself to
memories positions that the Voodoo would try to access when activated,
the overlap crashing it instantly. Because the Voodoo was not permanantly
active, it does not report a conflict. Milleniums were quite prone to
this as well as Mystiques (which was what I had) I understand. This could
possibly have been caried over into the G200 when used in combination
with certain other peripheral combinations.

I know this was fixed in Powerdesk 3.82 (for the Mystiques anyway), but
this is the only thing I can think of that would perhaps be at cause.

In "Control Panel/System/Display Adaptors/Matrox G200/Resources" there
should be a few memory ranges that you are allowed to alter after
unclicking the 'use automatic resource' option. If you are really
deperate and know reasonably what you are doing you could try clicking
them all up one increment at a time and see what effect it has.

Obviously, make a note as to what the original setting was so you can
restore it (via SAFE MODE) in the event of a problem and I take no
responsibility for it if you decide to do so. If we never hear from you
again tho we'll assume you failed, heh.

The safe way to do this of course would be if you have a spare graphics
card, even an old ISA cheapie. Slot it in, boot up and if Q2 works fine
then you know there is a conflict from the Matrox.

Also, Q2 has a variable that must be set for PCi soundcards otherwise you
may get sound problems, shouldn't make it lock up tho.
