I've sorted out connecting, detecting and supplying the usename, password and protocol, but then I seem to receive nonsense. Well, obviously not nonsense, its just that I don't know how to interpret the next sequence. Is this documented anywhere that an idiot like myself could find, or will I have to guess? Cheers

On ftp.demon.co.uk in the directory /pub/doc/rfc you will find hundereds of documents setting the standards for how the Internet 'works'. PPP and SLIP (the protocol options) are documented there. For example PPP is in RFC1661 (as I recall). There is an index in the directory. -- Malcolm S. Muir Demon Internet Ltd. Sunderland 322 Regents Park Road England London N3 2QQ
