I tried adding "wait >1000" and "status up" to my DIAL.TXT instead but it just bombs when I >logon if I do that. Please heeelp me I'm sick of phoning to Edinburgh. Take out the line which invokes the dialler. Start NOS - what happens? Manually type the line which invokes the dialler. NOS should dial - what happens? Assuming you get as far as logging in and the server name was "du_finch" then typing "ifconfig sl0 up" does work. If the server is "?.demon" then you have a different problem. Is the error "Interface blah uknown"? If so, look in STARTUP for lines commencing with "ppp". The interface should match that in the "attach" line. If you have something different use that in place of "sl0". Still Stuck? Try posting your STARTUP and DIAL but make sure you erase your password first! __ Guy Harrison guy@swampdog.demon.co.uk
