I'm just switching to Demon, and am fully set up with my "Work"
computer, However, I still love to use my Atari Falcon when at home.
I've successfully logged onto Zetnet for about a year with the
Falcon, but don't know how to configure Stik (V 1.02) and Newsie for
access to Demon. I know that Demon don't really officially support Atari any morte, but used
to... does anyone have a copy of their old support software, or any
tips? All gratefully received.
You can still reply to the zetnet address,or:
 nick@boroughloch.demon.co.uk
In any case, it would be good to be in touch with other Atariphiles .

Hi Nick

Are you a consultant at an essex private hospital? (name is familiar)

OK I was on DEmon a few years back and they never sent me any atari support stuff..

Your best bet is to go to Yahoo and look for a program called STING this is the
new version of STIK and is easily configureable and allows you to use the newer
more popular PPP connection system.

if you have any bother mail me at

I'm using Sting v1.12 (with PPP) on my Atari Falcon And also Newsie v0.88
ofcourse, I don't know if you have already some other software to work
with on the Falcon, but do you also know a web site for downloading
the newest versions of Sting/Stik/Newsie/AFTP and others ?

Your best bet are the authors' home pages (the sites which hold
collections of STiK/STinG clients tend to be a little behind):

STinG: http://www.stud.uni-hannover.de/~perot/index-e.html

NEWSie: http://www.primenet.com/~rojewski/newsie.html

AFTP: http://plzen.eunet.cz/consul/atari/atack/products/aftp_e.html
(NB: this one may have changed)

POPwatch/NEWSwatch: http://www.the-gap.demon.co.uk/atari/atari.htm

Okami: http://www.xs4all.nl/~josdb/okami.html

The version of STiK at www.flinny.demon.co.uk is the latest: STiK 2
has been "coming soon" for yonks but hasn't materialised yet.

You can probably find any other authors' homepages via Hallvard
Tangeraas' URL launchpad at:
http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Bay/8745/

or the Ultimate TOS Software Index at:
http://ping4.ping.be/dipching-drulkhor/PRG-IND.HTM
