Eudora - why won't it pick up messages?

I have AddMail 2.0b4 working perfectly (thanks to Alan Staniforth).

My problem is that 'command-m' shows messages arriving in AddMail, but I 
can't get them to open in Eudora. I thought I could but I can't so I'll 
grovel again.

'command-M' gives the information window "Checking Mail.Preparing to 
transfer... Contacting (0.0.0.0)..."

Help me please before I tear my hair out.
