Having just got used to the old data rates returning after the post Christmas fiasco, they have died again. Is anyone else noticing that the cps rate for nows downloads has fallen to the laughable speed of 300cps on average, compared to a normal 6500cps average? I have a perfectly stable system and havent changed any of my setups since downloading TP3.03 when it was released, so the problem must be at Demons end. I use the NER 0845 number, and have a 28.8modem - yes I know its a 28.8kbaud modem, its just that Demon only seem to be talking to it at 28.8baud recently. :(( At this rate it would be quicker to phone up technical support and get them to read the news articles to us! Incidentally, I have checked the times to get the test files from the ftp site - emptyfile, fullfile, and regular file all take around 35s to download - emptyfile and regularfile used to come down in half that time. DEMON -STOP FARTING ABOUT AND GET THE SYSTEM FIXED. AFTER THE JANUARY FUCKUP MY PATIENCE HAS WORN OUT. I WON'T WAIT 4 WEEKS FOR YOU TO ACCEPT A PROBLEM THIS TIME. -- Kennedy Yes, Socrates himself is particularly missed; A lovely little thinker, but a bugger when he's pissed. Python Philosophers
