The mounting kits and 5.25" to 3.5" adaptor rails are Uhh, no. I don't know if you've ever looked at the front of most Macs, but the CD-ROM faceplate is customized to fit. Typically it's got a hole just barely large enough to fit the CD-ROM tray; the CD-ROM itself usually sits a couple of centimeters back in the case behind the custom faceplate. The situation is worse when you've got a 3.5" device; the Zip and Jaz at least come with a blue or green plastic plate to cover the space left around the drive by the large bay. I don't know about the Syjet. In addition, very few Macs have bays which can mount drives without special brackets. I haven't popped open a 6400/6500 yet, but I know that's true of the 7200, 7500, 7600, 8600, etc. Usually you screw the drive into a plastic plate or clip, then snap the drive into place in the bay. The drive usually can't be attached without a mounting plate or clip. Most of the Mac clones are much more forgiving. All the Powercomputing, UMAX and Starmax clones I've seen use industry-standard bays and faceplates for everything. Rick R.
