Claris Europe announced yesterday that all Macs bought after 1 July 97 will get a copy of MacOS 8 for just the cost of shipping through another *European MacOS-Upto-Date program*. The European version of MacOS 8 is expected to ship in September, but don't expect to get yours until January or February 1998. I ordered my copy of 7.6.1 via the first European *MacOS-Upto-Date* back in _February_, but there is still no sign of it. I called the Apple Assistance many times, but all they said was "You WILL get it". So don't expect too much from this kind of offer from Apple or Claris. By the time you get yours it would become totally out-of-date and worthless. I think Apple and Claris should close down their European branches and distribute their products directly from the states. Having branches in Europe and elsewhere only slows down the operation and gives Apple a bad name for failing to meet customer satisfactions. -- Email: Lyman@cwcas.demon.co.uk
