PwrMac 6100 + Radius Colour Pivot - Do I need a video card?

I'm buying a PowerMac 6100 (not the AV) and I'm hoping to use it with my
current monitor - a Radius Pivot (model number 0356). I currently use 256
colours as the resolution.

Various sales people say I need a video card (8XJ?), but Radious seem to
think I can plug the screen straight into the back of the machine. Anyone
with any views on this?
