I have a SupraFax 228 with the latest flash rom from the Diamond site
and have no problems at all.

Have you got the Ascend FAQ from demon?

If not, send a blank e-mail(disable your .sig) to support@demon.net
with the words     send ascend       in the subject line.

My init string is the one supplied by Demon's own internet package 
Turnpike  for the Supra Fax 228 and it is;

AT&F2&D3%C2S95=46

I have also changed the country code to the one for the UK but i'm not
sure if this was needed or not.

BTW the flash upgrade now gives my modem 33.6k :-)
