Hi

 I was getting a dead connection with my Supra 28800 with Ascends, ie 
 the connection was made as far as the MOTD and then no further.  
 With the help of a fellow Supra user I flash upgraded the BIOS and 
 made sure all my setup strings etc were OK - still no joy.  In a 
 moment of inspiration I tried using a USR comms card that I had put 
 to one side when I got a motherboard with on board serial ports and 
 this solved the problem.  Don't know why but this problem didn't 
 show up with "normal" Demon modems.

So if you are having problems with the Ascends this might just be a 
solution?
