I've just tried it again on my machine and I get the same message. The
Server version 2.21 is the version of Quakeworld that you are running.

That doesn't happen for me. I get a few other messages and then enter
the game either as a player or as an observer depending on what I've
selected.

Well I'm not an expert, but this is how I have Gamespy set up:

1) IP address of Demon Quake server is : 194.159.164.163
   The server is : quakeworld.games.uk.demon.net
2) Port is 27500
Under Gamespy > Games and filters, I have the following options:
3) Folder: this is the folder where Quake is installed - not Gamespy.
4) Command Line: Q95.bat (not Quake.exe)
5) Quake filter settings: none
6) Enable the Qlist alias : not checked.
7) Quakeworld : checked
8) Command Line : qwcl.exe
9) Disable normal Quake : checked.
10) Quakeworld filter settings: Server returns query info
11) Enable the QLIST alias: unchecked.

I'm running version Quake version 1.06 which I believe is the latest
version. You can verify which version you have by starting up Quake
normally (i.e. without Gamespy/Quakeworld) and it will display the
version number. I originally had version 1.01. The patch to upgrade from
1.01 to 1.06 is available at http://www.idsoftware.com/sitemap/index.htm

I don't know whether you *need* to run the latest version but it may be
worth a try if all else fails.

I assume that you are running a full (not shareware) version.

Any other suggestions?
