I've got a Dell 14" SVGA monitor running off a Cirrus 5422 card (slow, but otherwise OK). When I plug the monitor into the 240v output at the back of the PC the display is unsteady, however when plugged into a wall outlet/extension lead no problems. It's obviously nicer to run the whole lot from one power switch (front of PC) than have 2 plugs. What could be the cause? Surely if there's ripple on the mains supply it would affect all appliances plugged in nearby/same household ring. Or is the 240v output on the back of the PC coming via a transformer winding for isolation reasons? BTW my power supply is a 200W manufactured by Alfa. --- Hemal Popat hemal@popath.demon.co.uk
