Spot on.
This is one reason, why the P120, does not do as much better than the
P100, as it's clock rate suggests.
However the conflicting reports, arise from some (I am nameing no names)
computer 'assemblers', removeing the labels from chips, and overclocking
in various ways. I have seen _one_ machine badged P100, which a few
tests with the 'scope' and frequency meter, revealed to be running at 50MHz,
with a *2 multiplier. The chip was _very_ hot, and did not perform as a P100
should. The labelling on the CPU, was also not visible, with the heatsink
assembly glued in place, and the numbers on the bottom, looking as though
they had been sanded off. The owner raised hell, with the supplier, and
his machine was changed, and now performs significantly better.

Best Wishes
