Everything snipped since it was getting congested.

I think you will be amazed at the quality acheivable using a video
camera and a good capture card. I have a Video 8 Sony camera which I'd
used over a few years on holidays. I recently got hold of an Intel
Smart Video Recorder capture card and expected something slightly
better than a freeze frame on the telly. I've grabbed various images
off the tape at 320*240 and have been mightily impressed by the
quality. By resampling to 640*480 you can make excellent Windows
wallpaper.

But this is all subjective, if the original poster, or anyone else for
that matter, would like a JPG compression (27K) of the 900K BMP of my
cat, then mail me. It will at least give an idea of what is possible.
