I am currently using a self-built 486DX set at 40Mhz; 16Mb RAM & an IBM 540Mb hard drive. I have a Soundblaster16, my graphics card & I/O card both make use of the vesa bus. I have a Creative (Mitsumi?) CD ROM, a 3.5" floppy & a newly-installed Iomega 250Mb tape drive. I want to upgrade the motherboard to a -gulp- 586/120. I need to keep to the vesa bus architecture, to keep my current (relatively new) cards. Is this possible? Any assistance gratefully received.
