A friend of mine has an SiS Pentium motherboard with OK cache installed and I have been asked to add 512k Cache to the motherboard. There are 18 sockets on the motherboard. I intend to fill 16 of those with 32K x 8 memory chips. My problem is what to put in the other two chip sockets, if anything. The other two IC sockets are labelled TAG and ALT. The motherboard documentation is very vague as to what these sockets are for. Do I need to fill these up with 32k x 8 memory chips as well? We've also been quoted 60 for 512k of RAM, does that seem reasonable? Any help greatly appreciated. Cheers, Phil --- Phil Handley, supporter of Preston North End FC
