I'm probably in the wrong group... but please point me to the correct 
one if I really am.

Sorry to bother you all, but does anyone have any experience of the ne 
w Compaq 5133 (133Mhz Plentium) especially in the area of their AMD PCI 
network card?. I have been trying for days to get it to talk to the 
software!.

I am trying to get an ordinary vanilla Windows for Wk groups network 
going.

The software drivers wont load and the give an error of "incomplete 
binding".

I have found that the PCI bus address is 1000h, and by setting the 
address in the network setup (windows/network/drivers section) to 0x0000 
it recognises the card (this took 3 days to find out!). The manual is 
absolutely useless!. Windows expects the base address to be in the 300h 
area and wont allow 1000h, however the 0000h trick seems to work. SO 
far, so good. 
Now when I load Microsoft DLC 8202.2 (to run the HPLaserjet over the 
ethernet) it wont have it, and I get the incomplete bindings again. I 
can only think that MSDLC.exe prog looks for an address in the 300h 
area, and cant find the card. 

I know very little about networks, and have only had the last 4 days at 
it. My head aches!! Can anyone proscribe a solution, (other than asprin 
or simmilar!). Anyone had this problem, got any ideas? I have phoned the 
Compaq Helpdesk and they confirm that there arent any known problems 
with the machine or the card. (This is a brand new PC!) but other than 
that werent much help either othere than to also confirm that the 
documentation was " less than helpful" UNQUOTE.

All replies will be gratefull received, as I dont know what to do next.
