I purchased a PC from Gateway 2000 almost exactly a year ago. I found their pre-sales service excellent, unlike the two other direct suppliers I tried. The only problem with the equipment has been the presence of four bad sectors on the hard disk but since they appeared and were isolated eight months ago there have been no recurrences. Phone calls to their helpline are free and with only one exception their technical staff have been both knowledgeable and helpful. I am delighted with this machine and will undoubtedly consider going to them when it needs replacement. I have no connection with Gateway 2000 whatever and have only been prompted to write this because of an earlier posting in this thread portraying a view of Gateway I find incomprehensible. -- John Dawson | We, the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing at home in | the impossible for the ungrateful.
