I purchased a PC from Gateway 2000. The floppy drive and CD rom did not
work. The hard-drive light had not been connected to the main board. They
forgot to supply a copy of Microsoft office.

They forgot to send out replacement parts for 10 days.

Their technical support department are crap. Initially the floppy drive
would not read or format DD disks - It would only format/read HD.

Their technical department said that I would need to change my config
files to include a line so that the computer would accept DD disks. I
explained that I was using windows95 and that an option existed within
the software to format both HD and DD disks - The "technician" was
certain that you still needed to add this line into the config files
to get windows 95 to format a DD disk. Obviously he was talking complete
and utter bollocks.

I will never use Gateway again. Their service is crap and their technicians
(I've spoken to three of them now) are clueless.

Graham
