I overnighted in San Luis Obispo a couple of years ago and had a good meal at Big Sky Cafe, downtown at 1121 Broad Street. It's a California place for sure -- healthy and kinda heavy on the feel-good vibe, and real tasty. Also ate at Woodstock's Pizza Parlour on Higuera but don't remember much about it; I was in a grouchy mood because of a tiff with my traveling companion, and the crowds (it's a college hangout, and this was at night) distracted me. I think I liked the food though. Oh, and from SLO, if you have time you can take Highway 1 north along the coast through Big Sur; very picturesque. -- Brian P.
