Yep,

Nope, "milli" means 10^-3 (thousandth); one-millionth is "micro" and
the abbreviation is the Greek letter 'mu' (close enough to 'u' in ASCII).

Of course computer science thinks in powers of 2 and 2^10 is commonly
called "kilo"; 2^20 is commonly called "mega". In general RAM and ROM
are measured in 1024-byte "K" (or 2^20-byte "M") but disk drives are
measured in 1,000,000-byte "M".
