MEDIA ADVISORY


     "Russia's Uncertain Future" will be the topic of a Sept. 20
round table discussion involving scholars from the Duke
University/University of North Carolina Center for Slavic, Eurasian
and East European Studies.

     The event, which will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in Von Canon
Room C, Bryan Center, West Campus, is the center's fourth annual
discussion of recent developments in the former Soviet Union.
     
     Participants will be Professors Edna Andrews of Duke's
Department of Slavic Languages and Literature, Steven Levine of
UNC's political science department, and Vladimir Treml of Duke's
economics department.
