DUKE LAW-AFFILIATED ADJUDICATION
CENTER MOVES TO LEGAL CENTER IN CARY

DURHAM, N.C. -- The Private Adjudication Center, an affiliate
of the Duke University School of Law, has announced plans to
relocate to the new North Carolina Bar Center in Cary. The
adjudication center, one of the first tenants in the new $6 million
state-of-the-art legal instruction facility, expects to be in its
new home by late October.
The Private Adjudication Center is a non-profit corporation
devoted to research, teaching and service in the field of
alternative dispute resolution. Its staff renders dispute
resolution services in a variety of civil cases through a well-
qualified panel of neutrals, many of whom are prominent members of
the North Carolina bar, according to center executive director Rene
Stemple Ellis.
Duke law school Dean Pamela Gann described the move, which
involves five full-time employees moving from Durham to Cary, as a
positive one. "The opportunity for this law school affiliate to
become more closely identified with North Carolina lawyers as a
tenant in the new building is a perfect professional fit," she
said.
The North Carolina Bar Center will be dedicated on Friday,
Oct. 21, at 4:30 p.m. U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice William
Rehnquist will speak, and a reception will follow.
