Mis preguntas son:

- � Cual es la m�xima extensi�n permitida en el campo "value" de un
"param" HTML ?
- � Qu� caracteres ASCII son, y cuales no, permitidos?
- � Qu� otras limitaciones debo tener en cuenta al usar estos
par�metros?  

o
- � Donde debo ir para encontrar esta informaci�n (lo siento,
*realmente* soy un novato) ?

Y bueno, para los que sientan curiosidad sobre por qu� diablos me
preocupo por esto, va la explicaci�n de mi problema tal y como la
posteo tb a comp.lang.java.help (est� en ingl�s porque no es
fundamental para nada; si a alguien realmente le interesa y le supone
una dificultad el idioma la traduzco) :

It's just I am writing a 'programmable' applet that would perform
certain operations following the guidelines explicited in an
end-user-written script. Besides, 

1.- I don't wish the script must be provided to the applet in a
separate text file, as I want to minimize the # of required
connections to the web server.

2.- I don't want to annoy the user forcing him/her to write in a
"<param name=step1 value=do this>" fashion, so I would to like to be
able to define a 

<param name=script value=
start:
do this;
do that;
onUserClick goto label3;
&c...
 >

instead, and then have the applet parse the script parameter to behave
as required. The problem is that I don't know the exact size and
format requirements for a 'HTML <param ... value=' field, apart from
the obvious it may not directly contain '>'s.
