I have had a permit since 1989 and have 14 instructors with permits as well....Basically, MD permits need a business type of reason to be approved in this State. A conversation I had with FSgt Shaw of MSP shows their thinking: Me: If someone lives in a 'bad' neighborhood or travels through that type of neighborhood, they are truly in fear of death or great bodily harm and should be issued a permit. FSgt Shaw: But then we'd have to issue permits to everyone! Me: So what's wrong with that??? END OF CONVERSATION!
