If a lamp could jump, how would it jump? Motion
synthesis for such articulated figures is traditionally
performed by talented animators making use of keyframing
techniques. A new method of synthesizing realistic motion
for articulated figures will be presented. The method makes
use of controllers generating suitable torques to drive a
dynamic simulation of the object. Dynamic programming is used
to design the controllers.
Hopefully I can persuade a hopping lamp to attend, along
with YOU and your insightful commentary and/or suggestions.
