emacs elisp files for gopher

Hi:
	I have just begun to use gopher.  I want to be able 
to build the elisp files to access gopher from within emacs, 
however my site is lacking file "background.el".  Does anyone
know where I can obtain it?  I have already looked at the
archive at cis.ohio-state and unless background.el is part
of a larger distribution package, it's not there.
