I installed GCC 2.1 on our Sun-4s, and realized that there is no tcov support from GCC. However, GCC supports the -a option, but does not create a suitable .d file for the block count/profiles to be written to. I have been poring through the source code, and have found the place(s) where such a file must be created, when the profiling code is actually generated, how it has to link with /usr/lib/bb_link.o, and so on. However, I haven't been able to figure out the "block structure" assumed by GCC with respect to actually, writing line numbers into the .d file. Any idea if there is a patch for this, or do we have to manage without tcov for code coverage? Appreciate your input....
