I am having trouble generating bitmaps using the ppmraw device. It works fine at lower resolutions, I've tested up to 180x180 successfully, but fails at higher resolutions, for example 200x200 and higher. It only messes up text at the higher resolutions, so I don't think it could just be running out of memory. The problem with the text is that it ocaisionally will start drawing a letter then start it again shifted over and crop off the right side of the letter. The error is consistent from run to run on the same file even on different architectures(HP9000/375 , Sparc). It fails differently at different resolutions. I have been unable to find any pattern to predict which text will be messed up. The same character in the same font may be correct at one place in the image and messed up elsewhere. Is this a known bug and if so is there a known fix? Any help would be appreciated. J. Arthur Brost abrost@rdrc.rpi.edu
