The following causes a ghostscript 2.5 (on a sparc, compiled with gcc 2.2.1)
to die with a segmentation fault

    bash> gs -dNODISPLAY pstoppm.ps
    GS> 300 300 ppmsetdensity
    GS> (1stage29) ppm1run

Gdb gives the following traceback

Program terminated with signal 11, Segmentation fault.

Pstoppm works with some files, I can mail a copy of the file that kills
it to anyone interested in tracking down the bug (it's only 15626 bytes).
