This is what I do:

"Could someone please [help me with X]. Please respond by email; I'll
send a summary to interested parties or post a followup to the net if
there is enough interest."

I figure this lets email respondents know that their responses might
be handed to third parties, which is fair. I of course honour requests
not to send anything that might be controversial to third parties.
