In GNU tar 1.11.1 the configure script checks for the presence of
bison. If it's there it inserts in the Makefile:

YACC = bison -y

But it then uses in the getdate.c entry from Makefile.in

        yacc getdate.y

instead of

        $(YACC) getdate.y

Seems strange to me...
