I'm trying to install bison v1.19 on an RS/6000 running AIX 3.2. When the makefile
tries gets to the install command, the following is output:
/usr/bin/install -c bison /usr/local/bin/bison
cp: bison/bison: A parameter must be a directory.
cd /usr/local/lib; rm -f bison.simple bison.hairy
/usr/local/lib: A file or directory in the path name does not exist.
make: 1254-005 Ignored error code 1 from last command.
rm tmp-simple

sed -e "/^#line/ s|bison|/usr/local/lib/bison|" < ./bison.simple >

/usr/bin/install -c -m 644 ./tmp-simple /usr/local/lib/bison.simple
cp: 644: A file or directory in the path name does not exist.
rm tmp-simple
/usr/bin/install -c -m 644 ./bison.hairy /usr/local/lib/bison.hairy

chmod a+r /usr/local/lib/bison.simple /usr/local/lib/bison.hairy

/usr/bin/install -c -m 644 ./bison.1 /usr/local/man/man1/bison.1

chmod a+r /usr/local/man/man1/bison.1

cp: 644: A file or directory in the path name does not exist.
On the first line:
/usr/bin/install -c bison /usr/local/bin/bison
I've made sure that all the directories exist (/usr/local/bin) and I've tried
creating a /usr/local/bin/bison directory. I still get the same error.
Do you know what's going on? I can't install GCC v2.3.1 until I get bison running.
Thanks,
Tim
