FundClass is a FREE fundraising "school" that is conducted by email.
Approximately once a month, we invite a guest expert to lead and
facilitate a class on a particular topic. The class usually lasts
about 3 weeks. Subscription instructions are given at the bottom of
this message.

Our next FundClass topic will begin on Monday, January 18th.

*** Fundraising 101 for the New Kids ***

This basic fundraising class is targeted towards the small and
medium-sized organization - the all-volunteer, the one-person office,
or the hope-to-hire office. We will talk about how to build a mailing
list, direct mail, special events, coin cans, merchandise,
memberships, contests, marketing, newsletters and most importantly,
how to sell your cause. We will talk about start-to-finish projects
dealing with vendors, what is available for free and what costs. All
from someone who has been there, done that, and still keeps going.
From $100 garage sales to $500,000 walk-a-thons.

Our facilitator will be Joe Sprague, Executive Director of the Tree
House Animal Foundation in Chicago, Illinois who has over 22 years
experience fundraising for small, medium, and large organizations.

His specialty has always been helping all-volunteer organizations
looking to hire their first staff person or helping agencies that have
staff that are in financial trouble due to poor revenue streams.
