O, thou poor benighted souls. Go thou and kneel before the Oracle of
True Pizza in Houston: Fuzzy's. No one else is even close. Well, Carrabba's
does a pretty good pie, but I usually avoid trendy restaurants like the
plague. Fuzzy's is free of pretension (it's a _pizza joint_, not a place
to be seen while grazing on your arugula and chipotle pepper salad) and
their fresh tomato and garlic simply blows away Star, Uno, Birraporettis,
and everyone else.

Domino's isn't even worth mentioning. It's a tossup as to which is
more hazardous to your health: eating their pizza or being on the same
street with one of their drivers. Fuzzy's doesn't really cost much more than
Domino's, but I guess if how quickly you can get it is more important than
if it's actually fit for human consumption...

Ok, ok: so where IS this Fuzzy's place? Crossstreets would be fine, or even a
rough description of the neighborhood.

Well, as I noted in an earlier article on this thread, I partook
of the sacrament and ... was less than thrilled. However, with the
endorsements on the net, I'll drop by again this Saturday and see if
I might have caught them on a bad day. Stay tuned ... :-)

Too late. Personally, I think the great thing about Dominos is
that if you have a facsimile machine, you can fax them an order and
they can fax you your pizza ... without any loss in taste.

I'll have to second Cathy's thumbs-up on the pizza at the Mucky
Duck, athough I did think it was a bit pricey. On the other hand,
with a beer selection like that and good music, I'll live with paying
for their food if I don't eat elsewhere beforehand. (Tasty though.)

[ Did someone suggest the pizza at Paradox? Feo Y Loco is playing ]
[ there on Friday, so if I'm going to be there anyway ... ]

Alas, it is pricey at the grocery store too -- I think it's something
like $5 for about an 8 inch pizza. (So the Mucky Duck's $8 isn't too
out of line.) But worth it if you're in the mood for that sort of
pizza.

Actually I'm not clueless. I'm conceptually challenged.

I disagree; as my officemate just pointed out, it's kinda hard to fit
cardboard in a fax machine.

P.S. My favorite pizza? Star's Joe Pizza, delivered to my back door
fresh and hot.

Jordan M Kossack (kossack@taronga.com), in the article to which I am
responding, said he tried Fuzzy's and was "less than thrilled." We
tried it out tonight. "Less than thrilled" is a good description of
my reaction, as well.

The Fuzzy's pizza--we ordered a deep-dish pepperoni & onion, large--
was good-sized. The crust had an excellent >texture<, but I didn't
think it had much taste: it needed salt, or something. Good pizza
crust should be tasty enough to be eaten all by itself.

The pizza was cheesy--the way I like it--but there was some spice
in the tomato sauce or the pepperoni that I didn't care for. Can't
put my finger on it. On the other hand, the onions were cut large
and obviously very fresh: a definite point-winner.

I liked it enough to try it again. But I myself still prefer Star,
or Pizzeri Uno, or Birra Poretti's, or....

Thanks for the suggestion. We tried Fuzzy's after the Rice/Texas game and
enjoyed a GREAT PIZZA Feast. Ummm. Try the herbed whole wheat crust with
your Fuzzy's special. The Greek Salad was good too. The owner is Syrian-
Italian. This makes for a more interesting menu than STAR. STAR is good
too but, their wait hasn't always been worth it. Fuzzy's is a mom and pop
outfit, and they have only been in business for 3 months.... so your
business it really appreciated there...
So... Fuzzy's, Star, Barry's, Uno's, .... Pizza Hut, .....Dominos..Fax
Paper.

Hate to ask a silly question since the answer probably passed me by
in a "catch-up", but where exactly is Fuzzy's?
	Thanks!
