These statements do not justify the stated "fact"; all you have done is
restate your assertion.

The Miata looks very different from the Elan, from its more tapering
nose to the shape of the pop-ups. The chasses of the two are entirely
dissimilar; and the powertrain of the Miata (with its Torsen LSD) is
brilliant for different reasons than the Elan's. The similarities in
the size suggest only that Mazda was going for the same market.
