If I kept a boat in a freshwater marina and began finding corrosion
after I moved it to a saltwater marina, you could say it was
coincidence. But if I knew similar corrosion had been found inland when
roads were salted, I'd have a stronger reason to blame salt.

Farmers used to think calories were the way to fatten hogs. Coconut oil
was a cheap fat to add to feed, but it didn't make hogs fat. It was
polyunsaturates that turned hogs into couch potatoes.

Polyunsaturates inhibit enzymes required to turn T4 to T3. Low thyroid
can cause obesity, cancer, clot problems, and high cholesterol. In 2001
the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists recommended
changing the standards for normal thyroid levels because millions of
Americans with normal levels were suffering the effects of low thyroid
levels. In other words, being overweight wasn't the only norm in
America; so were insufficient thyroid levels.
