Well, for starters, the left hand is considered "unclean" in Arab culture,
so gesturing with it or using it would have been offensive in that setting;
the wedding ring is not an Islamic custom; and bin Laden was speaking to a
non-engineer, so using engineering terminology would have been inappropriate.

The tape would have been less credible if it had *had* the details you seem
to think are mssing from it.
