Dear Mr. Bannan,
We're an Early Center class at Discovery School in Spokane, Washington in the
USA. We're 4 1/2 to 6 yrs old. Our school is in the city. We don't have a
backyard, but we do have a block to walk around, and a sawdust playground to
play in. Our computer teacher, Lorna, gave us your letter. Then we walked
around our block. We found:
1. flowers drying up
2. a city cat - a little afraid of us- who lives in an apartment house
3. sunny day (we haven't had rain in a long time)
4. a grasshopper
5. red, yellow and orange leaves on the trees
6. green seeds which turned out to be black walnuts. They smelled strong.
7. dried up grass
8. mountain ash trees with orange berries
9. Puffy white clouds
10. It was warm. We just wore sweaters and sweatshirts.

Please write us another letter. We like hearing from you. Love, Adrienne,
Elizabeth, Will, Leslie, Roslyn Evan, Katie, and Mary.
