I grew up a couple of blocks from Vanowen -- one word, boyfriend -- in the '50s
and '60s and lived there until the mid 1970s.  (You want to know: near the corner
of Woodman and Saticoy; Valerio and Sherman Way and Roscoe were the next big
streets.)  I couldn't give a fuck about some electronics geek store in Burbank.
You were clearly writing about some restaurant in North Hollywood:
