    Actually, various machines to pick virtually any crop are patented
and in prototype.  The production of those machines is being delayed
by the unwillingness of growers to make captial investment which
is more costly than hiring cheap labor.  Grapes, by the way,
can be picked by machine and often are.

    Do you ever wonder how Americans got the work done before
the flood of illegals?  And do you wonder why *cities*, such as
L.A. and Dallas, are filled with illegals, even though farming isn't
exactly the business of those cities?

    You're paying for produce not only at the checkout counter,
but in taxes that subsidize the health, education, and welfare
of illegals  -- the cost is billions every year.
