Help on SMC EtherPower 10/100

Hello,

I'm trying to set up a local network. I'm using an SMC EtherPower
(9332BD) in my Linux box, using the 'tulip' driver.  The card is
detected on boot-up but i keep getting messages like:

modprobe: Can't locate module net-pf-4
modprobe: Can't locate module net-pf-5

This happens straight after the 'ifconfig' and 'route' for the loopback
in the rc.inet1.  When i try to ping my NT box, i get messages like:

eth0: enabling 10TP port.
eth0: enabling 100TX port.

These messages scroll several times and i get the 'modprobe' messages
again in the 'syslog'.  i can't ping my Linux box from the NT box, but
two NT machines works fine using the same card.  i'm using RJ45 and an
8-port hub.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
