Monitor will not run at highest specified resolution - Please help

Hi,

I have a 19" ADI 6P monitor with a 16MB Voodoo Banshee card.  According
to the specs the max resolution is 1600x1200@76Hz.  When I used
Xconfigurator to configure it, the program picked that resolution.
However when I tested that resolution the screen went crazy because it
was not syncing correctly.  Is there a reason for this and how do I fix
this?

I am using Redhat 6.1.
